Fatherless
Teardrops from a time that he'd like to forget/Painful memories that swarm in his head/A fatherless child since the age of 2/Angry and confused from what he's been through/All of his friends had moms and dads/but his life was different a time more sad/His mother is his life and has been full of care/But his father was missing and never was there/Questions were raised as to how and why?/But with every answer he'd breakdown and cry/Not a phone call, a b-day card or even a letter/Yet mommy always promised things would get better/Through all of this he emerged a man/Who ever said he needed a dad?/He didn't, he's fine is what he realized/His father was gone and dead in his eyes/He himself is now a father/And couldn't carry a better honor/Since day one he made a promise, to always be loving and to keep things honest/To be in their lives and never leave/To live for them with each breath he breathed/He'd never wish the same pain on his kids/Cause he knows what it's like to be fatherless.
