You and I were probably never meant to be/Rocky like the cliffs and more wavy than the sea/I feel like I've been stuck inside this purgatory/Trying to see what's on your mind but goin blind from trying to see/I look upon my watch but I don't seem to see the time/The time where we were young and every moment was sublime/Hiking boots on I grab the rope and try to climb/Climb outside this hell that's got me burnin deep inside/Roller coaster ridin up and down since you were mine/I rewind inside my mind the very start of you and I/Full motion like a picture, perfect scripture we were right/Thought you were so fine but I didn't see all of the signs/Too bad you could had the type of man to be your guy/Treat you like you needed, hold you tight throughout the night/Goin crazy for you baby and have no idea why/Thinkin of it now has got me down I'm bout to cry/Letting go all of my soul I spread my wings and let it fly/Need to close all that I know and wave my hand and say goodbye/Was so dumb when I was young but now I'm older and I'm wise/I put it all aside, I take a breath and close my eyes/You and me weren't meant to be and now I've seen it over time.
